Training, Equipping, Empowering,
Mobilizing the Body to take Dominion, NOW!
The Mission of KWC /CFWC
is what we do, why we do it, and the sense of
urgency we employ in doing it. You may be familiar
with some of the terms used as part of the consummate
ministry of the ascension gifts found in Ephesians
4:13-16. How or what part any local assembly
plays is determined by the visionary of that
setting. Our Contribution, here at KWC and CFWC,
is to prepare “through training, equipping, empowering, and mobilizing the body of Christ to take dominion on earth (note Revelation 11:15). Jesus taught His followers to pray in the “disciples” prayer, “thy kingdom come; thy will be done, on earth, as it is in heaven”.
The church of the Lord Jesus Christ is the only
one that can fulfill that purpose.
TRAIN
This is accomplished as we direct the growth
of each member of the assembly toward his eternal
purpose and destiny. This also involves teaching
so as to make each member fit, qualified and
proficient. One key element in training is discipline.
EQUIP This is accomplished as we direct the growth of each member with the article and resources needed to operate as a peculiar member in the Body of Christ. To go forth trained but not equipped is to show up knowing “how to”, but with nothing to use. To equip before training is completed, is to give a child a power tool as a toy.
EMPOWER This is accomplished in two (2) realms, heaven and earth. The concept here is being given authority and being enabled. Each believer has been given divine authority and power by the Holy Spirit. Authority refers to a legal right, whereas power refers to the ability to perform. This is all from the heavenly realm.
Each believer should also be submitted under an earthly authority in a local church. The new Testament church was birthed under the authority of the apostles, and then over time was committed to elders in the church who did the work of instructing, ruling and shepherding God’s people. No individual should be operating in the church outside this line of authority.
“No one takes this honor upon himself; he must be called by God, just as Aron was. So Christ also did not take upon himself the glory of becoming a high priest. But is said to him, You are my Son; Today I have become your Father”. Hebrews 5:4-5 NIV
MOBILIZE. This is accomplished as we “do” what we have been trained, equipped and empowered to do. This is the “Go and Make disciples of all nations, “BAPTIZING them…and TEACHING them to obey everything I have commanded you…” Mathew 28:19-20
There is an excellent definition in Webster’s Dictionary for mobilizes. It says, “ to release (something stored in the organism) for body use. Every functional ministry, every event and project in place at KWC and CFWC should have some application in one or more of these three disciplines.
DOMINION. The word “Kingdom” is made up of two words “king’s domain”. It is the territory or area over which a king rules and reigns; the King’s Domain. God’s Kingdom is the reign and rule of God , in heaven and in earth. It is the purpose of God and the extension of God’s rule.
The ultimate purpose of the first Adam as found in Genesis 1:26-28 was to “have dominion”. That was lost through sin. Jesus restored this purpose to all who are born of the last Adam, at Calvary. His body, the church, must take dominion, NOW.
NOW. Very simply, this speaks of the sense of urgency we must attain. “Now” means, “at the present time or moment; forthwith; under the present circumstances.
The reason for the existence of the church is basically four-fold. God had an eternal purpose in mind when He planned creation and redemption. This purpose was manifested in Christ and is an eternal purpose. This great purpose is THE CHURCH. Nothing will frustrate the eternal purpose of God in Christ and His Church.
The New Testament Church is redeemed to:
- Minister unto the Lord
- Minister to the saints
- Minister to the sinner
- The ministry of conquering Satan and his Kingdom
